The Billy Bishop Legion - Pub / Hall / Museum

Tucked away on a side street in Kits Point is a hidden gem. The Billy Bishop legion is located at 1407 Laburnum Street (off Cornwall). Being a block from the beach, “The Billy” is often overlooked or bypassed as it blends so well in a residential neighbourhood. This historic place is drawing a lot of attention lately with the help of their Thursday night event, Kitsilano Ping Pong Social Club. This event has been in the news, on blogs, on social media and posted in located pubs.

Kitsilano Ping Pong Social Club – Thursday nights (8:30pm – 11:30pm)

In addition to the table tennis club, “The Billy” offers a variety of events. For example, on Sunday they host an infamous Meat Draw from 4:00 to 6:45pm. Local butchers supply fresh cuts of meat (steaks, sausages, bacon, chops and more) and 3 tickets for $1 with draws every ½ hour.  Friday nights (6:00 – 7:30pm) are host toa beautiful roast beef dinner that includes: salad, fresh baked “Cobs” dinner rolls, potatoes, vegetables, home made gravy, and dessert, all for $15.

The most valued feature of The Billy Bishop legion is that it is officially a wartime museum. With artifacts dressing the walls, visitors and members get to appreciate a rich history.

The staff of The Billy are very friendly and love the Vancouver Canucks. This licensed event always has the game on, and offers british style pints (20 oz.). This licensed event is mainly for adults, however the Friday Night Dinner is a family friendly event.
