For the past couple years our beloved city has been debating over the installation of bike lanes. Whether you’re for them or against them, the fact of the matter is, they’re here to stay. The good news is that there’s a fantastic new service spinning their wheels along these trails, and delivering breakfast right to your doorsteps.
Ever wonder which meal is the most important? Yup, you guessed it. Breakfast is the one meal that can start your day with the fuel you need. The word breakfast literally means breaking the fast from your previous night slumber. Not to mention the impact it has on your metabolism. I’m no health nut, not by a long shot, but if you’re looking to get your day started on an empty tank, how far do you really expect to go.
The Breakfast Courier story begins here in Vancouver, where Jay Tenga’s hunger for a good meal to kick off his day, was consistently left unsatisfied by fast food alternatives and a lack of time to make his own and/or sit in a restaurant to enjoy something nutritious. It was his realization that many other busy professionals and families had this same problem in the morning that motivated him to seek out a solution.
After several years of cooking up the idea, Jay decided it was time to get this business rolling. With the help of a few friends in the hospitality and marketing industry, (Jay Tenga, Ripan Gill, and Murray) put together the foundations of what is now Breakfast Courier.
On November 23rd 2013, the team launched the company and has been delivering breakfast ever since. As attention to this fantastic and reliable service grew, so did the buzz. VanCity Buzz, Huffington Post, The Globe and Mail, BC Business and just recently CTV news have all chimed in on this awesome new startup.
How it works..
The Breakfast Courier has partnered up with local restaurants to help efficiently meet the map of their service. Having partners in various neighborhoods of the city can only improve the delivery time and most importantly the temperature of the food. The meals have been carefully designed by “Mr. Murray” to ensure they’re packaged and prepared in such a way that maintains their integrity. “Mr. Murray” is a red seal chef that currently works as the head butcher with the Fairmont hotel.
